Fiery, but feeling his years and illness, the painful director Leonard Fife (Richard Gere) wants to tell his life story, unfilled before it is too late. As a director of commendable documentary exhibitions, he has a lot to be proud, but avoiding him from the war in Vietnam and his previous relations have stabbed truths. Finally, choosing to reveal the truth and lies in his life and career, Leonard sits for an extended interview with his former student Malcolm (Michael Emperiols), recruiting with outspoken stories of his older self (Jacob Elordi) during the bumps of the 1960s. At the insistence of Leonard, his wife and an indispensable partner Emma (Uma Thurman) hears all this. Leonard’s successes have been detained against his failures, detained against the facts-and since the person in full is cleaned of duties, Leonard has to face the rest.
