So, here it is

The original Dune backstory tells the story of how the Rossak Sisters became Bene Gesserit. The incident with Valya Harkonnen, using voiceover, is from one called “Mentats of Dune.” All three books intertwine with the development of the Sisters, Mentats, Navigators, and Dog Doctors. Refers to the AniMat film Crazy Cartoon Cast: The New Normal (2020). I wanted to keep it short and to the point, but I felt compelled to expand on my thoughts.

The other characters didn’t interest me anymore

There was a time when the writers knew how to weave exposition into the narrative without it feeling forced or contrived. I understand that it’s the first episode, but do they have to write everything like it’s not common knowledge? Watson (Valya), Mark Strong (Emperor), Travis Fimmel (Hart), and Sarah-Sophie Bousnin (Princess) give good performances. I feel like the show is in good hands.

They drive the plot, but they’re forgettable

I guess we’ll see how it goes. I had a hard time focusing on the first episode. It felt like it was part of a whole that couldn’t be separated. I’ll wait until the whole season before I start consuming the next episodes.

They did an amazing job on the visuals

The CGI is high-quality, the costumes are perfect, and the tone of Villeneuve’s vision is maintained and expanded upon. The art department should get credit for how beautiful it looks.
